MissionLetter - The best solution for making and managing your email list as a missionary.
What does this service provide?
This service allows a missionary to send their weekly email and communicate with all their friends and family on their mailing list. It allows large emails sent by the missionary to be received by all receipients.
Why was this created?
I'm the father of a missionary and I work in technology for a living. My daughter wanted an easy way to manage a mailing list and send pictures to friends and family. Free solutions have a limit on the size of emails that can be sent and are generally unavailable to the restricted devices used by missionaries. Manually keeping track of an email list as a missionary takes time away from more important activities. I created the MissionLetter service to allow a missionary to manage their mailing list, handle large images and provide a worry-free solution to making sure a missionary's emails are delivered.
What are the benefits of using the MissionLetter service?
Some of the benefits are:
- The service is completely managed by the missionary - no need for parents to forward letters or manage the missionary's mailing list.
- No need to copy and paste the email to multiple recipients.
- Emails with really large image attachments can be sent without filling the recipients inbox - up to 40 megabytes!
How do I sign up? How much does it cost?
The cost for this service is $24.95 for all missionaries serving an 18 to 24 month mission.

Alternative Options to the MissionLetter service
- Send email to all recipients using missionary.org.
- This is perhaps the simplest approach. There are some downsides of the approach however. Some benefits of the MissionLetter service is the ability for each email to be sent only to the recipient. This prevents things like unintentional "Reply-All" and possibly needing to send multiple emails in cases where there are too many recipients.
- Send one email to your mom or dad an have them forward to interested recipients.
- There is nothing wrong with this approach but it does give a parent one more thing to do. Benfits of the MissionLetter service is that the missionary can manage their recipient list and know that when they send their email it will be delivered to all recipients without anyone else needing to be involved.
- Send an email using one of the above approaches and include a link to the photos.
- This is a good approach. This allows the email to remain small and prevents filling up your recipient's email inbox. The MissionLetter service helps avoid this problem as well by extracting all images and including references to the images that you have selected to be shown in the email. The upside of this approach is that the missionary choosees which photos are important to send in the email. Speaking from experience, a recipient may not take the time to view your photos if they aren't included directly in the email.
